Preventative Dentistry
Cleanings
Most people require a professional level dental cleaning twice a year. Staying up to date on your cleanings helps maintain a healthy gums and bone – the foundation to your teeth and oral health!
X-Rays
Standard X-rays help our clinicians detect areas of concerns before they become a problem. Yearly X-rays can help catch early cavities, bone loss and infections. At Sharp Family Dentistry, we use digital X-rays, which have very minimal radiation exposure.
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride treatments help to strengthen the surface layer of your teeth, which become weakened by sugars, acids, and bacteria in your mouth. Not only can fluoride strengthen your enamel, but it can also help decrease generalized sensitivity. We recommend fluoride treatments twice a year after cleanings and it is safe and effective for adults and children.
Sealants
Sealants help protect teeth with deep grooves from developing cavities. A simple and quick procedure that requires no anesthesia, they are a great option for preventing cavities in children.
Restorative Dentistry
Fillings
We offer composite (tooth colored) restorations. Additionally, we can use bonding and composite for minor cosmetic reshaping.
Crowns
Sometimes a cavity on a tooth becomes large enough that it weakens the entire structure of the tooth. This is when a crown is indicated. No more goop – we use a digital scanner, and your crown comes back in 1-2 weeks. We offer gold or tooth-colored crowns.
Other Services
Periodontal Treatment
If it’s been a while since you’ve had a cleaning, it’s possible that you might need a deep cleaning. A deep cleaning (periodontal scaling and root planning) allows our providers to comfortably remove buildup (calculus) that is lingering below your gum-line. If left alone, the calculus can lead to chronic inflammation, bone loss and loss of teeth!
Emergency Dentistry
Tooth pain is something we don’t want anyone to have to deal with. Call us for an emergency appointment and we can figure out the cause of your pain. If the treatment needed can be done in our office, we will get you scheduled as soon as possible. If it’s something beyond the scope of care we provide, we will refer you to a trusted specialist in the area.
Whitening
We offer in-house whitening treatments or take-home bleaching trays. Call us to brighten up your smile!
Pediatric Dentistry
Did you know that it is recommended for children to start their dental visits between age one and two? We see children for exams, cleanings, and fillings.
Extractions
If a tooth cannot be saved, we offer extractions and bone grafts. If it is a complicated extraction, we will provide the necessary referral to a local oral surgeon.
Dentures
Dentures can be a significant adjustment, and we are here to help you be as successful as possible with that transition. We can also fabricate dentures that connect to implants, which can give you better functionality and satisfaction with your prosthesis.
Nightguards, Sports Guards, Whitening Trays
We can fit you with a custom night-guard that will ease the pressure that you’re placing on your teeth. We can also fabricate custom sports guards, which can protect your teeth while performing physical activity or sports.
Payment Options & Insurances
Our dental office is in-network with Delta Dental. Additionally, we accept Health Kids through Delta Dental.
For patients with other insurance providers, we are happy to bill your insurance as long as you have out-of-network coverage. If you have questions about what your insurance may cover with us, please give us a call or contact your insurance company directly.
If you do not have dental insurance, we’ve got you covered with our in-house membership plan. This plan includes no-cost cleanings, exams, and X-rays, along with a 20% discount on additional services or treatments. You can click the link: HERE
